Since my very first job as a Camp Counselor at two camps in Washington State, I have always been a wild child who loves the earth. As I grew into a domesticated adult life, I disconnected from my roots. Can you relate? My personal return to nature began in 2012 when I moved home to the Pacific Northwest after many years away. Upon my return, I was electrified by the greenery of home and I soon found myself making many lifestyle changes so that I could live a life designed around consistent immersion in the natural world. I started climbing Washington’s volcanos, I went to work in the outdoor recreation industry full time, and I started biking to work. As I built my new outdoor centric and earth based lifestyle, I discovered that my routines and habits were actually taking me back to the ones I had growing up.

To go to the next level in my life, I had to go back to the beginning. The more I pursued my passion for outdoor adventure, the more I recognized my path was reconnecting me with my roots. My original nature as a kid who loved to play outside. The more I embodied this version of myself, the more I rediscovered my inner wild child, the one undomesticated by life. To connect with her, I had to shift out of my head the way I had been conditioned, and into my heart. As I shifted energetically, my life expanded exponentially. Work and play became one; there was no separation as I became one with the earth. This led to the realization that my true nature is limitless, and the more I identified with my truest self, the more I embodied a sense of wholeness and aliveness in my skin. Who I was inside matched the person I was within, and the congruence was magnetic. A meaningful relationship, and a dream job in the happiest country on earth, Norway. It was here, where my journey to understanding the human connection to the earth deepened. I reconnected with the world traveler within, and in doing so adopted a minimalist, conscious, nature centric lifestyle.

Living in the environmental extremes of the Polar North, experiencing a personal “dark night of the soul” put a spotlight on my own personal relationship with light and elements. Norwegians have a very special relationship with the light. Nordic cultural philosophy and traditions are rooted in the understanding of light as a vehicle to connecting more deeply with the earth and with all of life. As I experienced life immersed in the elements, under extreme shifts of light and season, my relationship with the earth became even more pronounced. After an injurious slip on ice, and the crumbling of my relationship I was again led inward. With my life stripped of distractions, and plenty of time to observe the natural world at work, I took interest in the nature of light. Unable to pursue extreme sports, I knew I needed to find a way to harness my healing time. I discovered Buddhist meditation. At the end of my first session, my teacher shared that meditation was the same thing as the feeling you get after climbing a mountain and standing on the summit, only the struggle of the climb wasn’t necessary. That was how it felt, and so began my adventure into the world of subtle, unseen energy. As I stripped away the excess and the distractions, nature’s elements and a life of international travel became my greatest teachers.

When I returned to the United States, the physical stress of my corporate job had taken its toll. My body was riddled with inflammation, and I struggled with thyroid and adrenal distress from unknown food sensitivities developed over the course of my life. I knew that traditional medicine alone had failed to produce meaningful improvement, and I sought to address the root cause of my dis-ease through alternative and holistic natural medicine. As a highly sensitive, intuitive empath with a passion for natural lifestyle, I knew that traditional Western Medicine could help me feel better, but wouldn’t help me address the root causes of my dis-ease. I sought help from a Naturopath, Herbalist, Acupuncturist, Sound Healer, and a Reiki Energy Medicine Practitioner. The results were profound. In finding success with these methods, I sought greater empowerment with them, and trained as a Reiki Master to administer self healing.

As I transformed my health, my career too transformed. I left the corporate world, started an adventure photography business, became an Airbnb Plus designer and Superhost, and embraced a creative outdoor life full time. In my fullest expression of my truest self, I now guide those I work with through their own return to nature so they too can reconnect with the earth, themselves, and their wildest dreams. I’d love to assist in your journey back home to the most authentic expression of your truest self.

When people talk about awakening, they often think of rising up, but I’ve discovered that the path of enlightenment is actually a great remembering. It is a downward, inward journey to reconnect with your original, organic, essence. It is a return to nature. It requires a return to the earth.
